Welcome
School counselors at Kings Junior High implement a comprehensive counseling program to provide services for all students in grades 7 and 8. At KJH, School Counselors:
- Support students so that they can acheive academic, social-emotional and career goals
- Assist with issues caused by typical stressors such as grief, relationships, and developmental challenges
- Provide academic advising and intervention to ensure that all students have equal opportunities to be successful
- Connect families and students with community and school resources to meet their needs
- Explore student's interests, abilities and values to facilitate career development
- Abide by the American School Counseling Association's Code of Ethics and rules of confidentiality
- Assist students with personal concerns, problem-solving, and healthy decision-making
- Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution and substance abuse prevention services
- Support new students as they navigate KJH
